Here's a photo of Brigadoon perched on the stub of her keel ..... I thought the keel weighed 1600 lbs, but turns out it weighs more like 2,700 pounds. Guess it doesn't matter, since it is underwater outside Alligator Harbor. What a sad sight!
The continuing saga of Sailing Vessel Brigadoon, of Rockport, Texas, as she and her intrepid crew slowly work their way toward the Tropics.
Dear Skip and Caroline,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry! I lost my ketch coming into Bimini similarly. It is like a death in the family, for sure.
Perhaps you've already thought of this, but what are the chances of finding a hull of the same design and transferring everything to it?
I wish there were some way to help. Hmmm, I have a Cal25 hull in Annapolis you can have for free, though there might be a couple of hundred dollars storage due, maybe not too. Also have a 27' Pearson Renegade with an Atomic Four that just needs to be put back together. With the trailer, I'd need a couple of thousand dollars for the Renegade though you could pay me over time. Just a thought.
Best,
Mark Draper
